Amber Benson is an American actress, director, and producer. Most famously, she is known for her part as Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and has also directed produced and performed in her own film Chance and Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Benson also appeared in the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was born on January 8, 1977 in Birmingham Alabama, daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson psychiatrist. Danielle Benson is her sibling and an accomplished artist. Benson attended a Reform Jewish synagogue while growing up.
